2007 Foxglove Zinfandel

This wine was specifically recommended by the owner of my favorite wine shop as a can’t miss value in red wine. At a retail price under $13, I could not ignore the suggestion.

I shared the wine with friends and family over a few summer dinners. At first tasting, it was exciting. I thought I’d found a really good wine at a bargain price. Decent fruit, a little pepper, and not too thin up front had the initial makings of a great value. The finish was disappointing, a little thin and others noted an off finish.

All in all the 2007 Foxglove Paso Robles Zinfandel is affordable and drinkable, but not complex enough to warrant consideration as a great value.

Rating 1$, 1q, 2v
