Entering Sonoma County, a few miles past the old Sears Point (now Infineon) Raceway, is the tasting room for a leader in the value wine niche for well over a decade. Cline Cellars is a quality producer of fine wines with a range of affordable red wine specializing in Zinfandel, Syrah, & Cariginane.

Tonights choice, the 2007 Cline Bridgehead Zinfandel acquired locally in Chicago for $17, is an interesting blend of spice, licorice and big jammy fruit. This is a well made, approachable wine with wide appeal will withstand a broad range of food from grilled meats to more exotic foods with moderate spice.
